Using Technology for Productivity is a stand alone one-day course. Technology is supposed to make life easier and simpler, but most managers find themselves cleaning up the messes caused by too many gadgets. This one-day workshop will show you how to leverage technology to work smarter, not harder. USING TECHNOLOGY FOR PRODUCTIVITY

Specific learning objectives include:

  • Research what technology can be useful for each delegate
  • Using computer built-in software for productivity
  • Guidelines on which software to use
  • Experiment with To Do Apps and computers software
  • Introduction to an online team management software
  • Explore many tips and tricks on your computer
  • Develop good telecomminication skills

Delivery Methods

Leading Training is focusing on providing virtual training courses for the foreseeable future and will only consider in-person and classroom training on request, with a required minimum group size of six delegates. We remain committed to offering training that is fast, focused and effective.

Audience

Anybody who needs to use technology (PCs, smartphones, apps etc) to get work done.

Pre-Requisites

Computer literate.

Course Outline / Curriculum

  • Making Your Company a Technology-Friendly Place
    • To begin the day, we will discuss some ways to encourage staff to use technology. Participants will also try to find some creative solutions to a case study problem.
  • Conquering Computers
    • Computers are one of the most popular technological tools, and they can be the most difficult one to manage. We will give participants some ways to make the most of the PC.
  • Choosing Software Wisely
    • Purchasing software is usually a big decision. We will discuss a three-step process to help you make that decision. Then, participants will use the process in a case study.
  • To-Do List Apps
    • Simple to-do list apps are a great resource to organize your tasks and give you a clear focus towards getting them done
  • Note Taking Apps
    • Note taking apps can help you record important information and access it easily.
  • Web-based Project Management Programs
    • Web-based project management systems are an effective way to unite progress and priorities for multiple people.
  • Keyboard Shortcuts
    • Keyboard shortcuts, or quick key commands, are a simple way to enhance your focus. By minimizing your reliance on the computer mouse you can build momentum by developing an efficient, distraction-free workflow.
  • Technical Training
    • This session will cover some types of training and some tips.
  • Time-Saving Tools
    • This session will look at some ways to use e-mail programs, contact management programs, and scheduling software to make the most of your time.
  • Telephone Etiquette
    • Even if your business doesn't use computers, laptops, or PDAs, almost everyone has a telephone. This session will cover some basic telephone etiquette tips.
  • Telecommuting
    • High-speed Internet and technical tools makes it possible for many people to work from home. During this session, we'll discuss what telecommuting is, how to decide if telecommuting is right for a particular employee, and how to prepare a worker to telecommute. Participants will then complete a case study.
