The course:

  • Makes use of the free Microsoft Power BI Desktop application. This application has the ability to create reports and dashboards using diverse data sources. The course also introduces the functionality of the PowerBI.com web-based application
  • Instruct the delegates in use of diverse data sources
  • Focuses on the skills that will be needed to compile reports. The reports that are created will serve as the source for the dashboard users
  • Covers all the built-in visualizations in detail, with the relevant exercises
  • Covers the custom visualizations on the Microsoft and third-party websites
  • Gives some guidelines for report and dashboard design

It is intended for use by non-IT staff, including both Line and Senior Managers, Personal Assistants, Business Analysts, BI Specialists, and Knowledge Workers

Delegates must have a working knowledge of Microsoft Windows, and either Microsoft Edge, Microsoft IE, or Google Chrome Delegates should have a working knowledge of either Microsoft Excel or another reporting tool Delegates should have experience in doing reporting

About Microsoft Power BI Desktop User Course

You are an experienced business user of reports and dashboards and understand the role that reporting plays in the decision-making process of your organisation. You need to build reports and dashboards with the minimum involvement of the IT Department, using diverse data sources, for deployment on internal servers, Microsoft OneDrive, Web interfaces, tablets, and smartphones. You create reports and dashboards on an advanced level and / or make these available to colleagues for use on their own dashboards. You need a tool to support the process of creating these reports, and to manage the data and visualizations required by other reports and dashboards. Delivery Method

Instructor Led classroom based training. Scheduled classes are normally held in Woodmead - near to Sandton in Johannesburg, Gauteng, South Africa. Stationary and textbook included. Refreshments, including 2 tea breaks and a cooked meal for lunch are provided for full time courses. Light finger meals are supplied for part time courses.

Gautrain

For clients who want to enjoy the convenience of public transport, consider the Gautrain. Our training premises in Woodmead is located near the Morning Glenn Mall Bus Stop. If organised by prior arrangement we will collect delegates from the afore mentioned bus stop at no extra charge. Direction to the bus stop are as follows:

Take the Gautrain to the Sandton station.
Take the S2 Bus to Morning Glenn Mall.
We will collect you at 8:30 directly from the bus stop.
