Most individuals do not plan adequately for retirement and are reliant on institutional service providers. This should be the individuals responsibility.
Revenue for retirement "Wealth Creation" (R4R) is a half day intervention at providing career coaching and support to "generation Y" graduates, and other staff members, not limited by age, in the understanding of the importance of retirement planning, the basic requirements and disciplines in order to achieve the desired goal on retirement. Most employees start working at an age of 25 and they retire at the age of 60 to 65 years of age, that is to say that they work for 35 to 40 years, but they do not die at that age and can live to age 80 to 85 years of age. That is to say they need to finance their old age of approximate 20 to 25 years during their working years of 35 to 40 years. This means they would need at least their last salary going forward or saving their whole salary for their old age which is impossible. Thus the importance of retirement planning and for R4R. The training is not meant just for those who are just entering the work force but for all employees in order to understand the importance of mentoring new employees, their children and even their grandchildren. Research has shown that as much as 90% of employees do not plan for retirement, and of the 10% that do plan for retirement 90% do it incorrectly. The course is essential if not vital as an induction course for new recruits in the workplace, but as mentioned not limited to new recruits. It is the responsibility of corporates' institutions, and to some extent government, to educate their staff in taking care of themselves when they go on retirement. It is of great importance to the country as well, because it creates a culture of savings and not only of spending. Therefore R4R is working with clients (corporate and staff) to better understand their financial requirements, values and norms, to take greater control of their personal financial development and future career with retirement in mind.
