Details

All managers need to be able to understand and interpret the financial information at their disposal. The ability to analyse finances accurately can be the difference between a successful and unsuccessful business unit.

This Unit Standard is intended for managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be second-level managers such as heads of department, section heads, or divisional heads, who may have more than one team reporting to them, and who need to be able to analyse financial information effectively.

By the end of this course you will be able to: 

  • Use mathematical techniques to collect and organise data.
  • Apply mathematical analysis to calculate and represent financial and economic data.
  • Apply mathematical analysis to indicate economic relationships.

Audience

This course will suit learners in any business unit who are responsible for leading and managing staff, and who would like to grow their skills in analysing financial information. It would also suit any qualifying learner who would like to earn credits towards a qualification. 

Pre-Requisites

It is assumed that learners are competent in:

  • Communication at NQF Level 4
  • Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4
  • Computer Literacy at NQF Level 4
