Course Overview on LPIC-1 101 Linux Administrator: Architecture & Installation

This course focuses on the internal architecture of a Linux system, including hardware configuration and the system boot process. It provides comprehensive training on Linux installation and advanced package management using both Debian and RPM-based systems. Students will also master essential GNU and Unix commands for file management and process monitoring.

This course will help prepare you to write the first of two exams needed to achieve the LPIC-1 certification. 

This course covers the content of the LPI Exam 101-500 (LPI certification Level 1). This course prepares you to write that exam, but the exam is not included in the course cost.

  • Configuring hardware settings and understanding the BIOS/UEFI boot methods.

  • Managing software with Debian (dpkg, apt) and RPM (yum, dnf) package managers.

  • The fundamentals of virtual machines and containers within a Linux environment.

  • Advanced command-line work, including the use of streams, pipes, and redirects.

  • Process management: monitoring, prioritising, and signaling active processes.

  • Managing filesystems, partitions, and the Filesystem Hierarchy Standard (FHS).
