DP-700 Microsoft Fabric Data Engineering Course

BECOME A CERTIFIED MICROSOFT FABRIC DATA ENGINEER

Details

Fabric components

Microsoft Fabric the unified data and analytics platform, brings together data engineering, data integration, data warehousing, real-time analytics, and business intelligence into a single environment:

  • Store data centrally in OneLake (a single, unified data lake)
  • Build and manage data pipelines
  • Transform and analyse data using Spark and SQL
  • Create reports and dashboards with Power BI

Fabric is an all-in-one platform for collecting, processing, analysing, and visualising data at scale. Simplify, modern data architecture that reduces complexity and improves inter disciplinary collaboration.

What You Will Learn

Build in-demand data engineering skills with our DP-700 Microsoft Fabric course. This practical, hands-on programme equips you to design, build, and manage modern data solutions using Microsoft Fabric’s unified analytics platform.

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

Design Data Solutions in Microsoft Fabric

  • Understand Fabric architecture and OneLake
  • Design Lakehouse and Data Warehouse solutions
  • Apply medallion architecture (Bronze, Silver, Gold)

Build and Manage Data Pipelines

  • Create and manage data pipelines
  • Implement batch and real-time data ingestion
  • Work with ETL/ELT processes

Transform and Model Data

  • Use PySpark and SQL for data transformation
  • Work with Delta Lake tables
  • Optimise data models for performance

Orchestrate and Automate Workflows

  • Schedule and manage pipelines
  • Implement event-driven processes
  • Manage dependencies and triggers

Secure and Govern Data

  • Apply role-based access control
  • Implement row-level security
  • Manage data governance and compliance

Audience

  • Data engineers and data professionals
  • BI developers and analysts transitioning into engineering roles
  • IT professionals working with data platforms
  • Anyone preparing for the DP-700 certification exam

Pre-Requisites

 1. Basic Data Concepts (Essential)

  • What tables, rows, and columns are
  • Structured vs unstructured data
  • Basic idea of databases and data warehouses
  • What ETL / ELT means

This is foundational, without it, Fabric will feel overwhelming.

2. SQL (Strongly Recommended)

You don’t need to be advanced, but you should be comfortable with:

  • SELECTWHEREJOIN
  • Aggregations (GROUP BYCOUNTSUM)
  • Basic data filtering and shaping

Fabric uses SQL heavily either T-SQL or Spark SQL (especially in Lakehouse + Warehouse layers). Our SQL course covers all this and more. see SQL Training Course

 3. Basic Data Analytics / BI Exposure (Helpful)

Familiarity with tools like Power BI or Excel helps you understand:

  • Data models
  • Reports and dashboards
  • How data is consumed by the business

We recommend our Microsoft Power BI PL-300-Aligned Bootcamp Training Course or Analysing Data with Excel Training Course if you prefer using Excel

4. Python (Optional but Useful)

Not mandatory, but helpful for:

  • Working with notebooks (PySpark)
  • More advanced transformations

Even basic Python familiarity gives you a big advantage. Couress that will be helpful include: Introduction to Programming Using Python Course for beginners or Python Programming Course for those who have programming experience already.

 5. Cloud Basics (Nice to Have)

Basic understanding of:

  • What cloud platforms are (like Microsoft Azure)
  • Concepts like storage, compute, and services
