This unit standard is intended for managers in all economic sectors. These managers would typically be second level managers such as heads of department, section heads or divisional heads, who may have more than one team reporting to them.
The qualifying learner is capable of:
Demonstrating knowledge and understanding of diversity in the workplace.
Demonstrating an understanding of the reality of diversity and its value in a unit.
Managing team members taking into account similarities and differences.
Dealing with disagreements and conflicts arising from diversity in a unit.

This course will suit learners in any business unit who are responsible for leading and managing staff. It would also suit any qualifying learner who would like to earn credits towards a qualification.
It is assumed that learners are competent in:
Communication at NQF Level 4.
Mathematical Literacy at NQF Level 4.
Computer Literacy at NQF Level 4.
Lesson 1
Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of diversity in the workplace.
Lesson 2
Demonstrate an understanding of the reality of diversity and its value in a unit.
Lesson 3
Manage team members taking into account similarities and differences.
Lesson 4
Deal with disagreements and conflicts arising from diversity in a unit.
