Audience

This course will be suitable for leaders in any business unit who are responsible for hosting meetings or running training.

Pre-Requisites

Some experience in training online with any tool is beneficial.  An MS Teams app installed is preferable to practice.

Course Outline / Curriculum

Starting right to generate maximum engagement.

Creating an engaging online session requires employing strategy right from the get-go. We will look at simple, effective ways to encourage your audience to engage and participate.

Introduction to Teams controls.

In this session we will cover fundamental settings such as setting up your devices, adding backgrounds, and testing audio.

Managing Participants

Next, we will look at the controls we have related to our participants. This will include functions such as admitting, muting, and administrating privileges of attendees.

Sharing screens.

Presenting online will almost always involve sharing content of some kind. We will examine different options for screen sharing and their advantages and disadvantages. We will also cover important topics like how to view meeting participants while screen-sharing and ensure that our sound is shared as well.

Useful Shortcuts

Presenting online can be a juggling act. We will provide helpful shortcuts to help manage the various windows and applications you have running.

Breakout Rooms.

Setting up breakout rooms and moving participants between rooms is effective to add dynamics to your sessions. We will look at how to do this well to make sure participants are comfortable. We will create, join and communicate with breakrooms.

Using virtual whiteboards.

Whiteboards are an excellent collaborative tool. We will look at how and why we might use these interactive online tools. We will look at the native features found in Teams as well as third-party options.

Creating polls to use in a meeting.

Polls, forms, and questionnaires are an effective way to drive engagement. We will look at creating and sharing these resources with participants to gather feedback and boost participation.

Sharing Files

Working with participants online will often require you to share files with them. We will look at where to store your content and how to share it with your participants.

Recording

Finally, we will discuss recording options in Zoom and Teams and how to distribute those files once training has been completed.

Optional Second Day

There is no better way to improve upon your skills than to practice them. On this optional but highly recommended second day, participants will present a short presentation online using the skills they have learned on day 1. The trainer and other participants will then provide feedback to help the presenter improve.

Schedule Dates and Booking

There are currently no scheduled dates.

Please note that this course needs a minimum of 6 delegates to schedule a course. You can choose to be added to the waiting list by clicking the button below, and we will contact you when we have enough delegates interested. Should we not get enough delegates, we will refund or credit your paid booking.

Add me to the waiting list

Should you need this course urgently, the following options are available:

  1. Pay for 6 delegates (whether you have them or not) and we will schedule the course as soon as possible.
  2. If you have fewer delegates and cannot pay for 6, we can negotiate a shortened course where some of the time will be spent in blended learning - watching videos and doing tutorials and exercises with some contact time with the trainer. We would want to discuss what your core needs are so that we cover those aspects. You need to have paid for 3 delegates at least.
