  • Role of policies and procedures in guiding actions and managing risk consistently

Section 2: Risk Identification and Assessment

  • Methods for identifying risks using past data and future-focused techniques
  • Assessing risk using likelihood and consequence
  • Applying qualitative and quantitative risk analysis methods
  • Selecting appropriate risk treatment strategies: accept, avoid, reduce, or share
  • Using a risk register to document, track, and manage identified risks

Section 3: Developing Contingency Plans

  • Purpose and importance of contingency planning
  • Key stages in developing contingency plans
  • Identifying recovery strategies such as backups and alternate work sites
  • Defining roles and responsibilities during emergencies
