What You Will Learn

The New Venture Creation Entrepreneurial Skills course requires the following:

  • Active Participation: You take responsibility for your own learning and time management. 
  • 12 Formal Contact Days: Structured, participative sessions using a Learner Workbook for formative assessments and class activities. 
  • Three Practical Days: Hands-on application in your workplace, where you complete Knowledge Questions and Practical Activities for summative assessment. 
  • Business Plan Project: Construct a supervised project/business plan (often workplace-based), and maintain a logbook of related activities. 
  • Facilitator Support: Guidance during contact sessions, feedback on activities, and assistance in identifying coaching or mentoring needs. 
  • Workplace Mentor: Regular meetings to review course topics, gain insights, and clarify questions. 
  • Ongoing Evaluation: Continuous assessment through integrated multiple-choice questions, formative tasks, and summative assessments. 
  • Portfolio of Evidence (PoE): Compile your Learner Workbook, all assessments, project/business plan evidence, and mentorship records (log sheets, progress reports, evaluations) into a PoE for assessment.
  • Delivery: Training sessions can be done online with a facilitator or in person at your company's premises.
  • Group requirements: Please note that this is only offered for groups of 10 or more with maximum of 30 in a programme.

  • Business Planning – Setting SMART goals, creating effective business plans, and preparing for real-world challenges through applied bookkeeping, budgeting, and project work.
